We offer necessary conditions and sufficient conditions for two bilateral weighted
shifts on $\ell^2(\mathbb{Z})$ to have the same set of hypercyclic vectors. These conditions are given in
terms of the weight sequences of the two shifts. Parallel necessary conditions and sufficient
conditions are provided for unilateral weighted backward shifts on $\ell^2(\mathbb{Z})$.
